Why Nazareth Academy?
Hi, my name is Eric
and I am an eighth grader here at Nazareth Academy Catholic School. I
have attended Nazareth since I was about three years old and have had a
great number of experiences and memories that I will never forget.
Everyone at Nazareth Academy is like a big family. There are no fights
or drugs here which makes our school such a great place to want to be.
All the teachers are so helpful when it comes to the students'
education. Our teachers are willing to provide one-on-one tutorials
after school for us.
We also have extra
curricular activities such as football, softball, soccer, basketball,
track, drill team, competition cheerleading, PSIA, Choir, Band and more.
All of these extra curricular things are great, and a way to make new
friends. Nazareth Academy has best prepared me for the future and I
honestly believe I would not have received the same education anywhere
else.

If
you want your child to receive a good education in a safe environment
with the opportunity to experience extra-curricular activities and make
a large amount of new friends, you will be happy to hear that you do not
have to go to the extreme to make this dream possible. My parents have
been allowing me the privilege of going to Nazareth Academy Catholic
School since I was about two years old. I have grown in both my
academics and my Catholic faith. Thanks to Nazareth Academy's religion
classes, academics, after school activities, and sports, I have achieved
my goal of a well-rounded education and feel that I am well prepared for
the future. Please consider allowing your child that same
privilege too.

Hi. I'm Mary and I'm
in 8th grade here at Nazareth Academy. After being insixth grade at Crain Middle School for a year, I transferred to "NA."
Coming to Nazareth was a huge wake-up call
for me. I wasn't afraid to walk thehallways, the teachers and kids were friendly, and I found that there
are more
opportunities to learn when you don't understand the material being
covered. I truly
feel that here at Nazareth Academy we are a big family. Everyone here is
like a best
friend.
There are also countless clubs and activities you have here that other
schools don't
have. I am in the Journalism elective, where the T.V. show, the only
school T.V.
show in Victoria, and the newspaper, the Jetsetter, are made. We also
edit theJetstream show and update the website:
www.nazarethacademy.org. We also have band,
Spanish, choir, athletics and much more. I am also in the Drama Queens.
We are a
group of Nazareth Academy students who make positive role plays that are
on YouTube
(http://www.youtube.com/user/AppleOwl43)
and iTunes (just do a search for Nazareth
Academy on iTunes). These are the great things about our school that
helped us be
named as a year 2009 National Catholic School for Tomorrow. Nazareth
Academy is one
of twelve Catholic schools nationwide, and the only school in Texas, to
receive this
annual honor for 2009. We use computers and digital cameras every week
and because
of integrating technology into our curriculum, we also have won the Best
Buy Teach
Award three years in a row.
These are only some of the many things I have benefited from by coming
to Nazareth
Academy. I hope we see you next year! By the way, I will still be around
because I
have two younger brothers who attend N.A.!

I am
Nicole and I am in the eighth grade. I have been at Nazareth Academy
since second grade. At first I was a little reluctant to attend
Nazareth, but I quickly learned that this was the school for me.
Starting off in a new school
isn't easy, but the teachers here help you in every way possible from
detailed learning in the classroom to tutorials. The students here are
extremely welcoming and are the best of friends. The religion taught
here is fantastic. We hold weekly masses in which the students all
participate from readings to serving to providing the music. We also
read the
Bible during class as well.
We aren't just another private school, we are a family.

Nazareth Academy History
Nazareth
Academy is the fourth oldest Catholic School in the state of Texas and
the oldest educational institution in Victoria. More than a century ago,
Father A. Gardet, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (now St.
Mary's) recruited the first teachers of Nazareth Academy, the Sisters of
the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament. The Order was founded by
Jeanne Chezard de Matel in Lyons, France. The Sisters arrived in
Brownsville from France in 1853, and a few years later five of them
arrived in Victoria. Father Gardet gave his home to them for their
convent.
